“Extending the biggest thank you to you all for creating such a fantastic and memorable experience at our joint 30th and 70th birthday party for Dmitri and Jit. You guys are an incredible talent, and you were exactly the right vibe for us. You even graciously allowed Uncle Collin up on stage for a song (he comes from a long line of Morris Dancers - hence the Accordion). That was such a treat! We cannot praise you enough. Thank you for being flexible with time and space. We'd love to call on you all again when we have our next big occasion. Until then, we wish you all a world of success.”

My accordion journey for all those interested... 1) Stephanelli 48 bass - it was 2016, and I was 21 years old. This was the first accordion I bought, the week of our first Upsiders gig. I had no idea how to play, but I always wanted to learn, and it was the cheapest in the shop (Accordions Of Coventry - now closed). It eventually broke a reed while playing 'Come On Eileen' while busking in winter. This accordion features on our first EP 2) Weltmeister Rubin 60 bass - it was 2018, I was 23, and playing more with the band, so upgraded to this lovely, but still beginner accordion. It was light, but not versatile in its sounds. This accordion is used on our first album 'Songs From All Corners Of The Universe', and came to Godiva main stage with me 3) Elita Compacted 120 bass - it was 2020, I was 25, and saw this beauty in the Birmingham Accordion store. I think I just sold them my current one there and then, and upgraded to this intermediate accordion. Perfect for walking around with. This features on our second album 'Reconnect'. This accordion was originally linked to The Kray Twins, so I was sad to get rid of it, but I had grown out of it after 5 years. It is deeply missed after being used for nearly 100 weddings, and countless other events. 4) Serenillini Harmony 96 bass - it is May 2024, It is the week I turn 30, and have earnt a living playing accordion for 8 years. Not something I ever thought would happen, so treated myself to this professional, beautiful mahogany accordion that doesn't break my back. It is yet to be performed with at a gig, but it will be soon, and will feature on new Upsiders tracks in the works!
